Please find a list of all the events currently planned to be held at our school for the month of March 2019. These are split between primary school (ECE and PYP), secondary school (MYP and DP) and whole school events. Whole School March Events


01 March 5th-2:00PM-All Parent Workshop

Our Head of Primary, Mr. Brian Lalor will be leading a workshop on the brain. Participants will inquire into the parts of the brain and the functions they serve. Together, we will learn how the brain is seeking patterns and learn how parents can help to ensure that each child’s brain has everything it needs to function well. This workshop is open to all parents.


02 March-PSPE Swimming Classes

We are excited to announce that during March, PE swimming classes will begin to take place! These will happen during PSPE classes and will be for students from 7 years old and above. We will keep you informed with further details as they come available.

01 Fridays Throughout March-Primary School Assemblies

These are an opportunity for students from different homerooms to show their parents elements of what they have learnt in their Units of Inquiry. The calendar for Primary Assemblies can be found on our website, but are also listed below:

Please note that individual homeroom assemblies should only be attended by parents who have a child in that class. However, the Friday, 1st March PSPE assembly is open to all Primary parents, (ECEA – P6). Here, students will exemplify how our PSPE specialist teachers collaborate with homeroom teachers to focus on particular Units of Inquiry.


Secondary School March Events

01 March 6th-Dynasty Club Event

This event will be attended by all Secondary students. 


02 March 7th-Week Without Walls 2019 Trips-4:30PM-5:20PM – Blue Dragon Theater

All PYP6 – DP1 students and parents must attend to find out more information about the ‘Week Without Walls’ trips that will take place from 15th – 21st November 2019. All secondary students will be required to attend a trip next year as is part of our curriculum. Each trip will be connected to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. All students will attend an assembly on Wednesday, February 27th about the trips but more details will be shared for parents at this mandatory meeting. We will also talk about a big service event we will be holding for students before the trips with a keynote speaker from the United States.  We will talk about our attention to Health and Safety and the training of staff and students on First Aid.


03 March 7th-MYP5 Parents Evening

We invite our MYP5 students and parents to stay on after the Week Without Wall Parent and Student meeting and move over to the Black Box Theatre for our Diploma Program Course Selection Night. This event will run from 5:30- 7:00. DP Teachers and our DP Coordinator, Ms Quinlan will be sharing about the coming two-years academic offerings. This will be our opportunity to welcome students and parents to the DP.


04 March 12th-MYP Workshops

This workshop / coffee morning will be held by our Secondary Principal, Ms. Daun Yorke and MYP Coordinator, Mr. Arif Minhal . This workshop will focus on the upcoming MYP IB visit.


05 March 19th-DP Workshops

These workshops will be held by our DP Coordinator, Ms. Jaimala Quinlan and our School Counsellor, Mr. Mark Lasater. The workshops will focus on areas that are pertinent to DP students’ studies. DP2 will look at finalizing arrangements before examinations commence in May, whereas DP1 will look at the extended essay and university study.


06 March-19th-20th-Personal Project Celebration

Our MYP5 students will present the projects they have been working hard on over the past year.


07 March -26th-31st-AMIS India Event

Lars Jefferson will be taking a group of MYP choir students to Mumbai, India to work with students from around the world. This event is organized with AMIS (Association for Music in International Schools).
