Introduction to XLIS Library
Welcome to XLIS School Library! The library at XLIS is a safe and inviting space that aims to foster a love of reading as well as support and develop life－long student learning. It aims at continually developing appropriate print and digital resources that support the IB curriculum, students' learning needs and interests, including the multicultural needs of our school community. The librarian collaborates with teachers in planning and designing lessons and supports the
students in learning research skills.
Using the library
The library is used by students to study, research, collaborate and read. Students and staff have access to the library resources. Library users are expected to work quietly, show consideration for other library users and are excepted to take care of the library resources. Playing of video games, eating and drinking are not allowed in the library.
Borrowing library materials
Primary students have a fixed library period during the week and middle and secondary students have flexible times. In case a student wishes to, he can change his books anytime during the week, before his next library class.
Students may borrow up to two items at a time, and the standard loan period is one week.
Teachers can borrow as needed. Loans can be renewed a maximum of two times (as long as they have not been reserved by someone else). If a book is lost or damaged, the user can replace the book or will be charged the cost of the book.
Library hours are Monday to Friday: 8am to 4pm.
